Safe haven sober house founded by women and men discovering from drugs and Alcohol use, people who have made the decision to stop using drugs and Alcohol, and reduce the use of drugs and Alcohols with a goal to reduce the social, economic, health related effects of drug use to the users and community, by supporting women and men to abstain from drugs and alcohol and gain sobriety through Recovery- sober houses treatment programs Harm reduction interventions , provision of preventive education in schools, universities, public in general and educate the youth who are at risk of using drugs.

Safe haven sober house started implementing its activities since April 2017 with a concern in establishing and operating sober houses, whereby it started with one (1) Sober House at Ungindoni, Mji Mwema, Kigamboni , Dar es salaam with two(2) male addicts with the need to recover from drug and Alcohol abuse which later on the project replicated with the establishment of other five ( 5) Sober houses for men and one (1) for women. Until June 2022 a total number of 1,905 ( Male 1,873) ( Female 32) were admitted for rehabilitation services.
